Performance Issues

Hello!  I wasn't expecting to make a post like this...

It appears that a number of people are running into issues with the games performance when playing the new Playable Teaser.  First of all, I'd like to be clear that, if I thought the game was running poorly, I would not have put this out.  The real problem stems from the fact that, on my end, the game simply is not running poorly.

As you can see in the above photo, even when going into an area where I would expect a hit in my frames like the Slime Den map with the animated fog effects, my personal frame rate is only dropping to 56.  And is still hitting 60 relatively often.  While it's easy enough to say something I added between the last demo and the PT has caused issues for a lot of players it's a lot harder to understand what exactly it was, when it's an issue I cannot replicate.

So I figured after bashing my head into the wall a bit that the best thing to do was to make a post where I could collect as much information from those experiencing issues as possible, and hopefully, root out what exactly is causing the problem for you all.  Namely, what sort of device are you playing on? Desktop or Laptop? Where/when do experience bad performance?  Is it on specific maps? During combat? All the time?  Any details you can provide will be helpful to me figuring out what the root cause might be.

Secondly however, I did a bit of research into general issues with RPG Maker games running poorly and I found two points that seemed to be repeated.

One issue being that the version of NW.js that RPG Maker launches with is outdated.  Now this is something I can personally update on my end, and then have the exported game carry over to you the player.  But I'm going to make sure I have everything backed up before I go messing with files to the extent that I will need to.  As far as I have seen this SHOULD boost the performance of games.

The second issue however, is not one that I can personally fix, should you be affected by it. To make a long story short, since the game is HTML based some devices seem to attempt to play the game as if it is a web page and thus use their internal GPU rather than the dedicated one used for real games.  Now I checked with my own machine, and my game is in fact running off my dedicated GPU.  But if you're experiencing issues with frame rate you might want to look into this further.  Here's some links to other posts I found that talk more about this issue and how you can go about checking and fixing this. RPG Maker Forum post,  Steam Community  post.

Now again, I cannot test this myself since my PC is already playing the game properly.  But if anyone can verify if this is an issue they are experiencing and if making changes has solved the problem, it would be great for everyone.  In the meantime, I will continue to look into things I can do on my end as well.
